Myers Park Country Club Winter Wedding | Hallie & Rob

Born and raised in the North Carolina I hate cold weather. As soon as the temperature drops below seventy degrees I immediately reach for a hoodie. But, I love Winter weddings. There is something truly magical about the overcast skies (PSA, grey skies=beautiful photos) and nip in the air that makes the day feel that much more romantic.

Hallie and Rob didn’t begin their wedding planning with a February date in mind, but I personally think a Winter wedding was perfect for their timeless decor. Having grown up at Myers Park Country Club Hallie wanted to accent and compliment the club’s stately ballroom - using a classic black, white, and gold color scheme we nailed the look Hallie imagined, all while weaving personal touches throughout.

The ceremony and reception were beautiful, but not just from an aesthetic perspective. In all of my years of wedding planning and getting to know different families I have never seen two families come together and embrace one another the way the Spears and Gunst families did. Sure there was a little poking fun with each family representing a different shade of Carolina blue (for those of you not familiar, I’m referencing the Tarheels and Blue Devils), but it was all in good fun (I think) and clear that there is a mutual love and respect between their families.

Another highlight of this day? As soon as The Band Punch took stage the dancefloor was full and didn’t thin out until their grand exit. They know how to party. Such a great day, scroll down to take a peek.
