Hey there, thank you for stopping by! I’m Lauren, lead designer and executive planner for Southern Savvy. There is nothing I am more passionate about than event planning and designing your perfect day, tailored to your style and who you are as a couple. I thrive off the excitement and opportunity to bring you the most exciting day of your life just as you have always dreamed - the day your greatest adventure begins, the day you marry your best friend.
Born and raised in Charlotte, I spent a few years of my early 20’s in Wilmington enjoying all that our beautiful North Carolina coast has to offer. When it came time to "become a grownup" I knew Charlotte was where I was meant to be. When not working with our brides or fellow vendors I love to take advantage of everything Charlotte has to offer - between the Whitewater Center, our bursting brewery scene, and Bank of America Stadium, this is a great place to call home.
I love being outdoors, whether it be on a ski slope, riding my beach cruiser, running, or just sitting on the porch nothing makes me feel as alive as sunshine and fresh air. Craft beer is an art form and I have yet to meet a brewery I don’t like. Being in the kitchen is a very zen feeling for me, I love cooking with fresh ingredients and baking from scratch. I have a sweet, feisty Maltipoo, who acts more like a lab most days, and his best buddy is an Aussie/Husky mix with the most piercing green eyes you have ever seen (follow me on social media, I assure you they'll both be regulars on your feed).
You might be asking “how did you become a wedding planner and event coordinator?” Through internships and hard work I was fortunate enough to gain experience and connect with other talented event design coordinators and creatives who helped put me on the path to establishing Southern Savvy. After completing my degree in Hotel Management with a concentration of Sales, Meetings and Events, I felt ready to jump into this industry and put the knowledge I’d learned via school, experience, and fellow vendors to good use. And so began Southern Savvy Events!
Now that I’ve accomplished my goal of owning my own wedding planning and event design company, I have a new goal - to ensure your wedding is everything you and your fiancé dream it to be.
